About Nisargadhama

Nisargadhama is a series of small and large islands on the Cauvery river near to Kushalnagar town in Coorg district of Karnataka. There are many shallow portions of the river through which one can just walk through. Other activities here include elephant rides and boating. Its an excellant place to spend an evening.

At kushalnagar we can easily get accommodation and food of your choice. You can also arrange for your stay at the cottages run by Forest Department at Nisargadhama. You need to call Madikeri Forest conservator (ph:08272-228305) for booking it early.

Reaching Nisargadhama

Cauvery Nisargadhama is 220km from Bangalore.

Route 1: Bangalore - Mysore - Hunsur - Periyapatana - Kushalnagara - Nisargadhama.

After reaching Kushalnagara you have to go through the Madikeri road and turn left to reach Nisargadhama. KSRTC runs ample amount of services to Kushalnagara. From Kushalnagar its only 4km which can be reached in an auto.
