Magod Falls is a waterfall in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka. The waterfall lies deep in forest. The river Betdi(also called as Gangavalli) makes a 198m leap forming the Magod Falls. The falls goes dry during the summer months and misty during the monsoon season. There is a large lake on the way to Magod Falls known as Kavadikere.
Best time to visit Magod falls is just after rains. Months of August to December will be perfect.
Yellapur is the nearest town with decent food and stay options. Hubli city (70km away) has hotels suiting any budget.
KSRTC runs direct services to Yellapur from Bangalore. Another way is to reach Hubli by IRCTC and KSRTC services from Bangalore. From Hubli KSRTC buses are available to Yellapur. From Yellapur the falls is 17km away. One has to turn right on the highway to Ankola from Yellapur. There exist motor-able road till the falls from main road. From Yellapur jeeps can be hired to reach the falls.
