Kemmanagundi is a hill station located in Krishna Rajendra Hills (KR Hills) of Chickamagalur district. Its a beautiful hill station with breathtaking views of the valleys amidst mountain streams and lush vegitation. In Kannada Kemmanagundi means place with red soil. Its a hill station maintained by Horticultural Department of Karnataka. The department grows a lot of ornamental plants here. Views of the sunset offered from Raj Bhavan is mesmerising. The attractions at Kemmanagundi are Z-point, Kallathigiri Falls, Hebbe Falls and Rock Garden.

Reaching Kemmanagundi

Kemmanagundi is 270km from Bangalore.

Route 1: Bangalore - Tumkur - Tiptur - Arsikere - Birur - Lingdahalli - Kemmanagundi.

Route 2: Bangalore - Kunigal - Hassan - Chickamagalur - Bababudangiri - Kemmanagundi.

Through route 2 you will have to drive 30km extra. Through Route 1 you can reach till Birur by direct KSRTC or Railway services from Bangalore. From Birur private buses are available to Lingdahalli. From Lingdahalli there are only few buses to Kemmanagundi which goes through Ballavara. Through Route 2 till Chickamagalur you can get KSRTC bus. From there private buses are available to Bababudangiri. From there only very few cabs/jeeps are available to Kemmanagundi.
