Gudalur is a town lying in Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu. Gudalur has a lot of tea estates and tea factories. Attractions at Gudalur are Neeedle Rock view point, Frog Hill View point, Nadugani Ghat view points and tea estates. The Needle Rock view point is 8km on the way up to Ooty from Gudalur. The view point is also known as Soochimalai and get sits name from its conical shape. From this view point many small towns in Nilgirs and Wayanad districts can be seen. The forests of Mudumalai and Bandipur are also visible. During rainy seasons the place is often covered with mist. There are a lot Eucalyptus trees near the view point. The Frog Hill view point is 12km away from Gudalur on the way up to Ooty and offers a view of the nearby hill which resembles a frog. This view point also gets covered with mist during rainy season. Nadugani is a village 14km away from Gudalur on the way to Pandalur. The Nadugani ghat road connects the Gudalur town with Nilambur town in Kerala. The views from the start of this Ghat road is excellant. The Malappuram district of Kerala can be seen from this place. The ghat road passes through forests and often small animals can be spotted. During rainy season the entire road from the Nadugani Junction gets misty. Devarsholai, Periyasholai, Kariyasholai, Moyar are villages near Gudalur town and are close to the forest. Often small animals like Monkeys, Squirrels, Langurs etc can be spotted. The unexplored forests pose a lot of trekking options.

SETC and KSRTC run direct buses to Ooty which passess through Gudalur. TO reach the view points TNSTC buses are avaialble in Gudalur town. Private cabs can be hired from Gudalur.
